Masamori authored a painting manual in 1883 entitled Kanga Hitori Rakufu (i.e., Spontaneous Chinese Drawings for Pleasure). It included the ten woodblock-printed pictures of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Masamori used a Chinese style of drawing which aimed to reveal the inner spirit of the flowers and birds depicted.
